23    Senior Ramble

6          Homeschool Explorations
“Mr. Bluebird on My Shoulder”
Homeschool Explorers will learn about the Eastern Bluebird, how it has fought back from the brink of extinction and what your family can do to insure their continued success. Build a blue bird nest box to take home.  There is a $5.00 fee per bluebird house.  Pre-registration is required.  William C. Kraner Nature Center.  1:00 p.m.

14      Nature Tots
Bear With Me
Kick off the 2007 Nature Tots series with a fun look at bears.  Find out why bears hibernate, what they eat, what bear fur feels like, and much more through fun activities and stories.  Tots are encouraged to bring a stuffed bear from home to share with the group.  William C. Kraner Nature Center.  10:00 a.m.

 15      History Kids Club I
The Victorian era is well known for its grace and gentility.  Strict rules and guidelines were necessary to keep social order.  Participants in this hands-on program will learn the ins and outs of becoming a proper Victorian.  Participants will learn the art of the calling card, dancing and much more.  A few pleases and thank yous will transform your youngsters into proper ladies and gentlemen.  Pre-registration is required and is limited to 10 participants.  Period clothing is encouraged, but not required.  There is a $5 fee. Call 323-0520 to register.  Bryn Du Mansion (Granville).  7:00 p.m.

 17       The Labrador Twist
What is the Labrador twist?  It is one of the most popular dances performed in meadows throughout the county during the month of March.  Join us for an adventure into the meadows of Infirmary Mound Park as we search for the animal that gave the dance its name.  Bring the whole family out, but dress for the weather.  Participants are welcome to bring binoculars, lawn chairs and blankets.  Plenty of hot chocolate will be on hand to warm you as we await the arrival of the Labrador Twister.  Infirmary Mound Park, shelter #4.  7:00 p.m.

 25       Hard Boiled Dyeing
Peter Cottontail loves to color Easter eggs and he uses nothing but the best natural ingredients.  Want to know his secrets?  Join Park District Staff as we share the secrets passed on to us by the magical rabbit himself.  You will find out what natural items produce a variety of colors.  A special guest may appear to lend a hand.  Limited to 20 children.  Please call 323-0520 to register.  William C. Kraner Nature Center.  2:00 p.m.

 30      Senior Ramble
Designed for mature audiences, our 2007 hike series will once again explore various Licking Park District facilities.  Stretch your legs and your minds as we get fresh air, exercise, beautiful scenery and the camaraderie of others with similar interests.  This month, during a moderately strenuous hike, we will explore Taft Reserve’s north trails.  Bring a sack lunch and enjoy an early spring picnic.  We will provide the beverages.  Taft Reserve north parking area.  10:00 a.m.
